Away…

I’m off to Florence again tomorrow for work, but you’ll be glad to hear I’m taking the wife with me this time rather tban leaving her at home.

What’s more, she gets the better deal! While I’m working she’ll be swanning around museums and shops enjoying the sun! Its all right for some!

Still, at least I’ll be in a nice cool office instead of getting sunburnt outside!

I’m back on Sunday if all goes to plan…

New Design

Well… it’s lasted a good few months, but I’ve gotten bored of the old design, so I’m starting to impliment a new one. It’s not completely finished yet, but as you can tell it’s a bit dirtier, a bit grungier and well… a bit more me. I’ve kept the same basic layout as the old design, except for making the ‘WTF?’ (bio) area a bit wider and moving the nav stuff over to the right.

I have quite a bit more work to do before I’m finished, but I figure, if I start it, I have to finish it right?

If you notice any strangeness in your browser, please let me know what you’ve found and your browser version and I’ll try and get it sorted. That is, unless you are using anything less than IE7 because I quite frankly, don’t have time to be dicking around fixing issues for an eight year old antiquated browser like IE6.

For Sale – My Car!

It’s a sad day for me, but I’m afraid to say, i’m selling my Peugeot 307cc convertible. :(

Me and the pug have had a couple of good years together but I’m afraid in order to make some money available for other ‘projects’ it’s going to be necessary to sell it. It’s a Peugeot 307cc, 2.0 HDI with 17k (ish) miles on the clock, as you can see from the pictures above and below, it’s black and has the new look front end (the old 307cc’s had a silly grin). Approximately 1 years warranty still remains. Good condition throughout, with the exception of some minor kerbing on the passenger side front alloy.

It’s a good drive and exceptionally economical on the fuel due to the diesel engine. I really am sad to let it go. If you’re interested in purchasing, we’re looking to sell for around Ã?£15,500 o.n.o – email andy (at) bomb (dot) org (dot) uk for more information and to arrange a viewing.

Life Goes On…

Well, I’ve had an interesting couple of weeks, blatting from Cardiff to home to Florence, then up to Edinburgh and now this week coming I’m heading back to Florence again for a week. Ã? I don’t know what’s going on lately, but I seem to have been to more places in the last month or so than I’ve been in the last couple of years!

In other news, I finally found my compact camera again after loosing it. Turns out that my mother in law decided to file it in the top of a cupboard in the kitchen. Annoying really considering I asked her several times if she had seen it. Flabbergasted would be an understatement I think.

I’ve recently got into the blog themeing thing, after my wife demanded I build her a blog. It’s a pretty simple site design wise, but I got to use my recently acquired mad Jquery skills to do a funky expanding header that hides most of the navigation away from users and lets the wife concentrate on her content, which I think is essential when building a new blog. It’s mostly just rants and raves, but hey, that’s women for you.

Just kidding ladies, you know I love you really ;)

My Spore

Despite EA’s crappy PC only order process I’ve still been able to have some fun with the Spore Creature Creator demo for the mac – it’s a bit limiting when it comes to parts, but gives you a good taste of what’s possible.

Here’s some of my creations so far (entitled, chunk, bubblebutt and croc – I’ll let you guess which is which)

Spore Creature Creator – No Mac Version WTF!

OK, EA have officially pissed me off – today the spore creature creator was released, something I’ve been waiting for years to get my hands on.

First thing this morning, I went to download the demo only to find no Mac version. 2 hours later the mac demo was available, which I downloaded, played and loved. Now I want to spend my fiver and buy the full Mac Creature Creator – but it’s not available on the EA store!

I mean, what the hell – I’m sat here DESPERATE to spend my cash and their stupid fucking website won’t let me, I mean what is up with that?

*end rant*

Update: The US store now has a link to a 3rd party site for mac downloads, but the Euro store doesn’t yet. This sucks!

Wordcamp UK

I’ve just found out that WordCamp UK is definitely going ahead – I’m really excited as I’ve wanted to visit one of these blogger get together thingies but never seemed to have one going on in my local area. I’ve even managed to convince my employers to put up some cash as a sponsor, just to make sure it all goes ahead.

I think it’s going to be an awesome day – they have developers from WordPress attending and a whole bunch of interesting sessions – i can’t wait!

In other completely separate news, it’s all go with the new job. Finally out of technical support and back into a web design job, my new position has opened up all sorts of opportunities, one of my favorites is probably that I have to travel to Italy every couple of months to meet with my colleagues at HQ.

My new job is also massively varied – I’ve started describing it as a web development / marketing mashup – one minute I can be in an advertising meeting, then knee deep in PHP and Ajax, then reviewing performance stats. It’s great because I have a constantly changing, which makes it hard to get bored!
