2004 - A Year In Review —
So here we are… 2005. Another year gone so I thought perhaps I'd have a look back and document my year. Partially for fun and partially because it'll save you all looking through the archives! ;o) January 2004
Decided to turn this site into a tech blog and start posting about webdesignery stuff. It lasted about 3 days before I got bored. Helped in the development of a Pmachine moBlogging tool and posted a grand total of 2 mobile posts before giving up. I ordered broadband
Broadband setup went terribly wrong… Thought I'd been sold a dodgy modem. Returned the modem got a replacement and it still wouldnt work. Turns there was a really crappy old phone plugged in and hidden away upstairs and the lack of a microfilter was causing problems. DOH! Setup my EyeToy Retards mini-site. I let the missus join my blog… she posted one entry and was never seen again. Sold my car.
Nearly bought a skanky busted up house with the intention of rennovating but the sellers pulled out at the last minute. Pretty quiet on the blogging front.
Didn't blog in May but the archive seems to be pulling in some early entries from 2002. Strange.
Setup my own ecommerce website selling iPod Accessories. Also started the process of buying our own flat (the one we live in now). Ranted about Royal Mail's typically rubbish delivery services. House sat for the sister-in-law and spent 3 days being terrorised by Harry the cat. England were knocked out of the Euopean Cup by Portugal due to poor refereeing. My neice fell ill.
Discovered iStockPhoto.com. My site was featured in a major UK computer magazine. Created my 100 things post. I discovered FireFox (although I didn't switch for a good couple of months).
Red the book I,Robot then went to see the film. Gutted. Started an interesting project which I still haven't had time to finish. Bloghop.com vanished from t'interweb. Got a phat cheque from my insurance company for an old outstanding claim and moved into the new flat on the 27th.
Started moving everything into the new flat… started to seriously regret buying a property on the 4th floor of an apartment block with no lifts. Started switching to Firefox. Discovered the coolest dog in the world video. Revelead a lot of personal stuff about myself.
Discovered I rank highly on google for the term “serial killer worcester”. Went out for a brill night on the town with the missus n Rich. Had a bit of a LAN party with Rich. Superman died. I joined a gym and was first on the scene at an OPA (old person accident). My IEholics Anonymous post got linked on Mozillazine and my traffic went mental for a few days.
Dyed my hair green. Had my 23rd Birthday.
December 2004
Dyed my hair red (and later black). Got hit by comment spam and was forced to enable user registration for comments. Had the works Xmas party and had a brill time. Baked a birthday cake for the missus. Got a funky new camera for Xmas.
And that my friends… was 2004.
