Back to Work —

Well… that's the holiday over and done with and I'm all moved into the flat, so I'm back to the day job once again. So what have I been up to the last couple of weeks? Well mostly lugging boxes of junk up four flights of stairs to the flat, then lugging piles of empty cardboard boxes back down to take to the recycling center. That's right… I take my cardboard to the recycling center. Not neccisarily because I care about the environment, but more because it's easier to take a 5 minute drive and chuck em in a crunchy squishy machine than to break them down and stuff them into binbags.

It's scary how becoming a home owner teaches you new skills. Since moving in I've become an expert at building flat pack furniture, so much so in fact that I can now build an IKEA Billy bookcase from flat to completion in 10 minutes flat (seriously… I timed myself!). During the last week I've even build extra shelves for our airing cuboard. Me… doing DIY… Who'd have thunk it?

Theres one thing that has seriously pissed me off since moving into the new place. The TV Licensing people. We don't have a TV yet they INSIST on sending us red letters threatening legal action if we don't have a TV licence. We don't need a fooking TV licence because at this moment in time we aint got a fooking TV. (well we have… but it's not plugged in and it's not at the flat). I can't wait for one of their reps to turn up with a meter so I can throw a deluge of verbal abuse at them in exchange for their lovely red letters. Bring it on.

Just noticed… I've been upgraded to a “Slithering Reptile” in the TTLB ecosystem. Only 7 away from the top of the pile now (although that will require me obtaining another 1000 or so inbound links!)

Ahhh… it's nice to be back.
