I was reading the website today for the firefox switch campaign and one of the reasons they say you should switch is that firefox has popup blocking facilities. That's all fine and dandy, and yes popups CAN be annoying, but think about the good things popups do! Clear your cookies and visit Amazon.com and you get a nice friendly window greet you telling you about a special offer for new customers and it's not just Amazon, loads of sites tell you about special offers in a popup.

So… if you do a lot of shopping online, popup windows can actually save you money!

Of course, I'm sure you can disable popup blocking in Firefox and I reckon it probably has “allowed sites” functionality in it, but I just fancied playing devils advocate. ;o)

My point is… errrm. Dunno, but switching to firefox fulltime will definatly be on my agenda just as soon as they get to a 1.0 stable release.
