Scary times! —

So it seems its all going ahead! Our offer was accepted on the house, and now we're in the process of getting a good mortgage sorted before we can go ahead and actually really *really* purchase the property. In theory, if everything goes to plan (and I'm hoping for the love of god that it does) we should be able to complete on the property by the end of March. Apparently, the average house takes between 6 and 8 weeks but we've been assured by our IFA that it won't take that long. Well… here's hoping!

I think finding out that our offer was accepted has possibly been one of the most exciting moments of my life! I'm really not used to the kind of suspense. We were told to expect a call letting us know if they'd accepted our offer (there was all sorts of crap going on with sealed bids n stuff). So the woman rings up:

Woman: Mr Kettle?
Me: Thats me
Woman: Aplogies for all the delays with getting back to you the vendor has been very choosy over who they are selling to”.
Me: thats ok (at this point I'm getting slightly agaited while she woffles on about some other stuff).
Woman: Well…. *long pause* …

At this point I'm begining to pull my hair out. All I want to hear is three words “you got it”. The pause seems to go on forever and ever, but eventially she says the three magical words. “YESSSSS” I shout. Steph who's stood next to me has just worked out who's on the phone and runs off to tell her mum.

After the initial excitment had worn down, I suddenly started to realise I have to try and find several tens of thousands of pounds to pay for the property. Crap. I've been to see inside the property now, and as soon as we complete on the house I'll post the pics that I took up here. Then we can all see the before and after pics a few months down the line…

Someone wish me luck… I have a feeling we're gonna need it!
